Eve Is a musician singer/songwriter from Clonakilty West Cork, Ireland She is currently living in Cork finishing her last year in Cork School of Music, CIT. She has been developing her sound in college for the past 4 years. Eve has been in the Cork music scene since she was 14, playing at various venues and festivals such as Body & Soul, Electric Picnic and Townlands. Eve had a great upbringing, as her family are all musicians and songwriters. She’s following in the footsteps of her brother Sam Clague and father Les Clague. She learnt how to play guitar and about musicianship from a very young age off her dad. Clonakilty has also been a huge influence on her as the Clonakilty International Guitar Festival is held there every year with huge artists performing in her town. At the 2017 Festival, Eve was a featured guest in the Acoustic Forum which was presented by the renowned luthier Gorge Lowden. She performed alongside Tony Mcmanus, Bill Shanley, Leo Wijnkamp Jnr. and Kees Van der Poel. She’s hoping to play at the next guitar festival with a 5 piece band that she has been putting together over the past year. It features Sam Clague on guitar, Brian Dunlea on double bass, Paul Leonard on drums, Diarmait Mac Carthaigh on Keyboard.
Eve will be putting on her first show with her new full band in the School of Music on the 24th May 2018. Further shows to be announced in the summer. This is a very exciting time for Eve, as she is releasing her Debut EP Tilted ‘’Hide In Full View” which is the name of one the tracks that inspired the EP. It is being recorded at Wavefield studios in Clonakilty by Brian Casey.
Eve’s music is described as colorful, personal, guitar – driven blend of soul, folk and jazz.
She has been very influenced by artists such as Lianne La Havas and Amy Winehouse.
As well as performing her own original music, she has worked with various artists such as Bean Dolan and Darce. She has been mentioned on Nialler9″” top 10 artists to listen to this week with the song “Valhalla” which she recorded with Darce in Wavefield Studios. The song was listed on a playlist by the Spotify Senior London editor along with other upcoming Irish artists.
Eve has supported acts such as Eddie Reader, Jerry Fish and Brian Deady.
