What is Abair Amhrán?
It’s a workshop for learning and sharing Irish songs in a fun, relaxed atmosphere facilitated by Eithne O’Mahony from the Muskerry Gaeltacht. Abair Amhrán is in partnership with 49 North st Skibbereen and Party Piece
Do I need to be a singer to take part?
Not at all. Eithne will teach songs from the rich heritage of native songs. If you have any songs you’d like to share, this would be a great place to do so.1111
Do I need perfect Irish?
No. Eithne will teach the meaning and pronunciation of the songs, and some of them will be macaronic (i.e. featuring both English and Irish lyrics). You’ll be surprised how much Irish you learn through the songs!
