Folk Alliance International and Clonakilty International Guitar Festival present an open showcase in historic Shanleys Bar, home to many a legendary session over it’s more than 100 year history.
Artists:
Míde Houlihan (IRL) –
Clonakilty-born storytelling songwriter and winner of the IMRO prize for songwriting, Míde’s lyrics are insightful but never saccharine, her melodies inventive and catchy.
John Spillane (IRL) –
One of the most accomplished songwriters in the country today, award winning trad/folk poet John Spillane continues to redefine musical boundaries with his own unique style of playing and songwriting which he likes to call ’Sean Nos Blues
Steve Poltz (USA) –
Among the music cognoscenti, Steve Poltz is regarded as one of the most talented and prolific songwriters of our time. His songs have been among the longest running ever on the Billboard Top 100 and they regularly appear in movie soundtracks, television shows, and even the odd commercial. His touring schedule is ferocious, ping ponging between continents with enough frequency to earn him manic followings in scores of different accents and language
Sam Clague (IRL)
Sam Clague releases his new EP ‘Balloons’ at Clonakilty International Guitar Festival 2015. Watch it rise up into the ether buoyed by delicate fingerpicking & sultry jazz tones, until it explodes at the edge of ‘Clonakilty’s’ atmosphere, showering down Kaleidoscopic Chamber Music over all of Guitar Town.
