Take a journey into the ancient, sophisticated and evocative ragas of North Indian classical music with Dara O’Brien on sitar. Dara also explores contemporary sounds with live electronics, psychedelic sound layers and original compositions.

Dara O’Brien (PhD) studied Indian classical music over many years in India, along with Western and experimental music in the UK and in his home in Cork. He teaches Indian music in UCC and also works as a music therapist in the area of autism. He has extensive experience composing and performing music for contemporary dance to critical acclaim. His eclectic experience as a performer includes ‘global fusion’, Indian classical music, rock, jazz and experimental music. He is a founder member of alternative folk trio Pedlar’s Cross; and Rasa Nua – blending Indian, Balkan music and jazz through original compositions.
